The hotel, though relatively new, casts itself as an old hunting lodge quite convincingly.
In fact the land belonged to the Maharaja of Orchha, developed by his great grandson, and includes some small aged temples
in and around the property
A river view room is a must.
It makes you feel really out in the wilderness with green parrots, an occasional peacock, water birds, meandering water buffaloes and many monkeys (watch your purse at poolside) as your neighbors.
The restaurant is quite good and the only game around but Orchha is a short tuck tuck ride away.
Perfect if you want to relax and get away for awhile.

Ce qui m’a le plus déçue, c’est le non entretien du bâtiment et des chambres. Tout me paraît défraîchi, les linges de lit sont tâchés, les sols sont sales… Je n’ai pas du tout apprécié mon séjour dans cet endroit, et m’attendait qu’une chose, partir! Dommage, car cet endroit pourrait être magnifique s’il était rénové et entretenu!

It was a beautiful location and best view in the morning because of the riverside cottage. I loved the hotel stay and would recommend to book the riverside rooms for more mesmerizing morning

Facility is very good having old palace like feel. Cottages are river facing and have excellent view. Cottages are away from the main block. Walkway needs to be improved as it is uneven and not lit. Food was good but not excellent. Service was efficient. Room furniture needs to be rearranged for guest convenience

Great property, we stayed in poolside and river side also. The river is calming and you can walk till the river. It's a an old style palace hotel, the staff is warm and welcoming except for front office staff who i think get a salary cut if they smile and talk to a guest. They have a decent breakfast and scrumptious food. Also have live bundelkhand music performances. The hotel is easy to locate and gps would show you the right direction
ram mandir and first are just about a kilometre away and so is boating and rafting on the river. Over all a good experience and would love to come back again.

Worst food and humidity in cottage smelling towel and bedsheet or wifi was not working but view of lake is too good loved it
